He has been a good Evertonians, gave of his best. Possibly should have left a couple of years ago and he would have played more games. He owes Everton nothing. When he retires he can walk out of Goodison with his head held high.

Totally agree. I went to his testimonial 4 years ago.

We shouldn't be relying on him now though.

.....he's been very fortunate to have been at a Premiership club for so long in my opinion. Decent defender at his best but there are plenty of those about and so much more is required in the modern game. Not sure that he owes Everton nothing, probably 2 or 3 years wages totalling a few million quid might be more appropriate.

Harsh !!!

....not harsh at all. I saw him score a screamer for the Youth team at Gigg Lane. He's got a shot like a mule, the fact that he played in so many games and never scored a goal is a dreadful reflection of his willingness to get forward. Just look how many goals Coleman has got from open play. You only achieve that by busting a gut game in game out to hit the box.

To be fair to him, most his games came under moyes, often with Leon osman on the right with him and all our attacks came down the left. Saw him get more chances on goal under Martinez than moyes

.....close on 300 games, no goals and about 7 assists. Attacks came down the left because we had no option on that side. When Coleman came in we became a threat on both sides from full back. I just think some professionals are very fortunate to have been in the top flight for so long and Hibbert is one of them. The last contract was odd at the time, it's a waste the way it's worked out.

......a record he should be ashamed of.

Harsh.

I remember an away game at Charlton several seasons back, when Hibbo let fly with a fizzer from about 25 yds out, on target, that's in I thought, but the goalie was able to fold his paper, get out of his deckchair, walk across the goal and catch it comfortably without spilling his beer. That was about as close as it ever got for Hibbo.

It seems like a terrible way to defend Hibbert but to suggest he has the ability of Coleman and decided not to use it is unjust. I think he made the very best of his talents, I believe that if he had the skill to score then he would have done so.
