As a a Fisherman?lolHibbo is a legend
Straight up jealousy
He's a lifelong Blue who lived his dream and played for Everton, all while having the temerity of being just decent while doing so
Rather than live vicariously through Hibbert, as quite a lot of us do, a very unpleasant and nasty part of our fan base decide to get the knives out because they're unhappy with their own lot in life.
I love Tony Hibbert for the simple fact that he proves that if you work hard enough and dedicate yourself to a dream, you can go all the way to achieve it. Tony Hibbert is the fan on the field, and I'm proud of Everton as a club if they're trying to keep him on board and developing him in other areas. It's how it should be.
We as supporters demand loyalty from players, but we're not so good at showing it ourselves sometimes
Why do we owe Hibbert any loyalty?Going to re-post this every couple of months or so I think
would you prefer we play him instead of Coleman for a third of our games a season just 'to get our money's worth'?He's made 13 appearances in 2 and a half years under Martinez. Appalling that we're still paying this nothing player.
No. I'd rather we didn't offer him a contract 2 years ago. I don't think that's unreasonable.would you prefer we play him instead of Coleman for a third of our games a season just 'to get our money's worth'?
wind your 'over the top' reactionary neck in mate, it does get a but tired and predictable.
We would only have had to find (probably even buy) another right back to cover for the same wage if not higher. Keeping Hibbert saved us money, now we have some kids who can play at right-back he won't get another playing contract.No. I'd rather we didn't offer him a contract 2 years ago. He hasn't saved us money though. When Coleman's been injured we've shifted Stones out of position rather than playing Hibbert. We would only have had to find (probably even buy) another right back to cover for the same wage if not higher. Don't really see what you're getting your angry knickers in a twist about.

I'd rather we spent a bit of money on a proper right back so we could actually have backup. Looks like we were trying to do that with Byram in January.
