Production by none other than Thomas Dolby. I do think the album is heavily front loaded, but the first 4 tracks are as good as anything.

They did an acoustic set for the Special Edition a few years back - apparently took longer to record the acoustic covers than to record the orginal album!

I actually bought two of the above (Gretchen/Alien) on the same day in a used music store in Ann Arbor. That day's haul was disgusting. You would think that Puppets would be on the list, but habituation is a thing.

Congrats on picking out Kings X. A massively underrated band.

Would have gone to see them, with mum, if she hadn't lived thousands of miles away. Joint bill with Tears for Fears, who I wanted to see.

I’ve seen both and both are genuinely on my top 10 gigs list
