Had a fine day out, first away day with Everton (sort of, I live in London, so home games are more away day than this).

Shins and knees bashed to blazes after Kev's goal.

Coleman isn't a ****ing winger, please learn this. When he first got put there he did well becuase people didn't know of him, then they realised and found him out, he's lost and wasted there.

Most people don't think he's a right back because he's lacking defensively, and you don't think he's a winger, so, what is he?

I happen to think he does his best work cutting in from the right and going past defenders up forward. And we haven't had a decent right winger since I don't know when. There's a song we used to sing with words like that, once.

Moyes substitution threw 3 points away. It disrupted us and you dont sub a player like Mirallas anyway.

not sure about that. there were 5 mins left and naismith didnt do anything wrong and was pressing the ball well which mirallas wasnt really doing that much. the problem was osman. should have brought on oviedo so he could help out baines with walker and he could have been useful on the counter

I can understand replacing an attacker with a more defensive player in the closing stages when you decide to hold onto a slender lead. My point is that we didn't suddenly decide to hunker down and dig in for the win at that point. We'd adopted that attitude 15 minutes earlier and we were rock solid as things stood. Spurs were constantly repelled and we had good shape right across the middle and back. We'd gotten ourselves into a good shape and groove, with Spurs always wondering about our out balls to Victor and Mirallas.

We had 6 minutes left to see out. The change was not required, IMO. It spoilt a fantastic away team performance from us.

apologies for not reading the thread, it's 99 pages long FFS but generally agree with the consensus. Obviously a cracking performance, MOM - Victor (well done Son) .. 2 terrible substitutions tactically. Yes, Barkley should have come off but not sure if Jelavic was the solution as it meant Ossie dropping back into a conventional 4 man midfield when he was clearly flourishing in a more advanced role (which I think is his best position) .. was Oviedo on the bench ? if so bring him on instead .. his pace cold have helped managing Walker. If another striker then why not Vellios, we profited from harassing the Spurs central duo, Jelavic tries hard but seems to be increasingly ineffective. I understand the nursing Mirallas bit and yes pull him off, if you're not already played Oviedo then HItz into midfield is a decent call or why not blood a youngster with a bit of pace ? Spurs did.

Just read this entire thread.

Absolutely crushing result in the end for me, 5 more minutes and we'd be 3 points off with a game in hand. No complaints with the performance, was a textbook away game plan which looked like it was gonna work. We were completely comfortable after we went 2 - 1 up, they didn't look like scoring at all.

Think we're just a little too far behind for 4th now, we had to win today; a point is just as bad as none this time.

Gotta lol at the amount of times Moyes makes a sub to see out the game and then ends up having us concede a goal and either lose or draw. Coincidence?

Really?

Well seeing as Naismith was on the other side of the pitch to where the goal came from, yeah.
Maybe a wiser sub might have actually been in a position to do something about the goal, as opposed to bringing on the Scottish midfield Tony Hibbert who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, the useless get.

Apart from the chance immediately after our goal, not really.

You resorted to shooting from range and your crosses were all handled well by Howard.

It was strange, I've never felt confident defending a lead like that, we were dealing with every single attack so well. Reminded me of Newcastle away

Coleman used to have a bit of naivety defensively, but then Moyes played him there, he has learnt and he is nothing but a right back, and a fantastic one to boot. I dont think he is lacking defensively anymore. He is not a winger, all his best work is when he's bombing on after the RM ahead of him, has tucked in giving him that space to attack their fullback/winger (whoever is marking him) He beats them for pace down the wing or comes inside and beats them.

Nobody can deny that Coleman's best work has come at fullback.
