steve show me proof barkley wasn't fit? your ASSUMING he wasn't fit, the fact he got on the pitch and looked fine on the ball shows otherwise, traore you could argue wasn't ready but barkley and dell boy were fine but both were left too late to come on.

(ive been defending kenwright on here today you should be proud of me lad)

Theres a difference between being fit to start and fit to play a part late in the game if needed. When the sqaud is stretched its sometimes neccessary that not quite fit for 90 mins players sit on the bench in case they are needed late in the game. Barkley has been poor since his injury...has not deserved a start. Delofeu today looked very off the pace when he came on...not surprising really. I think Martinez probably thought Del was more likely to affect the game with one piece of magic than Traore, who is coming back from injury and has not played in a competitive game for Everton, or in the Prem. Traore will get game time on Wednesday . Got it now?

...didn't make the most of a few prominent situations. Mirallas must be so frustrating at times to play with, just one thing on his mind when he gets it. Naismith is the opposite, I thought he could've been a bit more selfish. We played well and remain in the hunt, a huge advantage with the reds but if the gap is the same at the end of this month you shouldn't give up.
Agree with this. Wise old head speaking there...

Think the posters continuously pointing out knee-jerkers are more annoying than the actual knee-jerkers, myself.

Annoying result and performance (both from players and manager) that. Possibly more so than the derby, considering how predictably poor that was.

Agree with this.
Martinez is starting to worry me.

We really should have scored 1 or 2 first half and we would have won it, still feel really bad about it now actually and probably worse than I felt after the Derby. Seems like 4th has gone now to be honest and don't know If I want Europa League, I do think we will have a run in the FA Cup though and get to Wembley. Bad, bad result today and lack of cutting edge really showed. Onto the next one.

One of the few completely sensible posts in this thread. We are still in the hunt, no doubt of that. You should read Red Cafe at the moment...they have given up top six , virtually, and at least three Utd. players know they'll be sent packing in the summer. We are definite top six, and still in the mix for 4th, a defeat for the RS, Arsenal fading, and us getting back to form(thats already coming on) and fitness, and its all to play for. I think we're over our dip now, others are still to have theirs.

We'll still get top 4, stop flapping. We've still got half a team to come back remember and our rivals have all had luck with injuries that will run out soon enough
