That's not the problem, it's that his movement isn't suited to the position and him playing there robs us of an in form and very valuable inside forward, especially needed if Deulofeu isn't even on the bench.

I'd have Vellios up front ahead of Kev, just so Kev would be in his natural position. It's square pegs, round holes, and the exact mistake Martinez made tactically ahead of the Villa game until he played a blinder in the second half.

But didn't he play as a striker for Olympiakos?

Sure, Naismith looked better against Villa but if we have less of the ball and play more on the counter you'd expect that to suit Kevs game better. Just cause it didn't work in one game doesn't mean it won't work in another.

Naismith did look better against Spurs but then he came on when their defence was already tired, shortly before their centre back and best player went off. Spurs will play a higher line here, could be some joy for Mirallas.

Top preview Chico and for that very reason I'm predicting an 8-1 win to us. Anything less than that and its because the preview wasn't as good as I first thought. Either way, we can thank/blame the preview for the result. COYB

how many chances has had to play that position for you to make that judgement?

One game against villa?

Fair point. I just always see him as playing behind the main striker. He did keep straying offside and didn't look as comfortable in that role. I don't think it's his strongest position and thought Naismith played better there when he came on.

I really hope we can secure the points today, it would give us breathing space away from Spurs and the rest below us. Also keep us in touch with Liverpool. But it will not be an easy game, hope Roberto has got it right not like the Derby game.

I quietly fancy our chances here, tbh.

Spurs will come out and we'll get space to exploit. This could be the game of the weekend.

Game of the weekend was yesterday didn't you know mate. I had the missus rambling on this morning saying she hasn't seen the meffs play as good as that since the 80's. Yep there title dream is back on ( until they draw on wednesday ).

I'm thinking the same as you though, Spurs will press high and we will exploit that and come away with the 3 points.

traore to score 10 mins into debut at WHL like brian McBride!

vellios probably won't be on the bench because traore and naismith will be there.
