So this begs the question: why have we been [Poor language removed] for such a long time?

Could simply moving Arteta into the centre make all the difference?

Although no doubt that boot up the arse that Moyes gave them after Wigan had some bearing :D

Match Ratings - Perhaps abit too positive...

Howard - 7 - Only a few saves to make, and he saved them all. Some good catches too.

Neville - 7 - Good game, nothing really stands out though

Yobo - 7 - Possibly an 8? Good heading, good tackling, he did well today

Jagielka - 9 - Almost perfect match today really, great tackles, prevented a goal or two, and his usual commited performance.

Lescott - 7 - Finally hes back - ish. Still a couple of marking issues, but still good performance today.

Osman - 7 - 100% work rate, some good passes, and he ran around the entire pitch to get the ball

Arteta - 8 - Yippee, hes in the center. Skillful, creative, got past Tottenhams midfield easily, and played in some players for great chances.

Cahill - 7 - Busy, as usual, won headers in the center of the pitch, worked hard, but didnt stand out as much as the rest of the midfield.

Fellaini - 7 - Same as Cahill, abit sloppy at times, but he had 2 good shots on goal, and did work hard.

Pienaar - 8 - Got the goal, and improved our entire team. So close to getting MoM.

Yakubu - 6 - Injured...quite serious too...

Saha - 7 - Quite creative, got a good chance, which he shouldve done better with perhaps, but still, you can see he is a class striker.

Anichebe - 7 - Held the ball up well, and had 2 good chances on goal, fairly good. He must be feeling quite happy going home, he will most probably start the next match, with our 3 strikers injured.

Great match, our first half was fantastic. Wether it be the introduction of Pienaar into the team, or Arteta in the centre - it doesnt matter. More of the same please.

Officiating - First half fine, but then they suddenly turned against us. 6 minutes wtf?! I lol'd at Moyes reaction to it.

Jagielka the Man of the Match, great performance, Arteta and Pienaar following closely behind, but all of the team played well today.

great game
great result

defence was immense and it's blatantly obvious now that arteta belongs in the middle, also fellani seemed to benefit from artetas presence

Didn't know who to shout for at the end as a draw would have makin me 2 1/2 grand. :@ At least we got 3 pts(y)

I don't think it's just that. Alot of players booked there ideas up today and the workrate and closing down was back again.

Neville, Yobo, Jags and Lescott where also superb. It was a team performance from the boys today and it's pleasing to see.

Arteta should be moved back into the middle for much the same reason as Lescott, he's not happy you can tell watching him that something is wrong I thought that maybe he could be playing for a move away. But maybe he was promised when a winger was signed he could play in the middle which is the position he wants to play so why not give him a try there. At the moment he's not even trying to beat a man or pass the ball forward. Putting him in the middle would give him more options of passing the ball and hopefully will get him more involved he needs a kick up the arse and we need to play better possession football nobody in our squad keeps the ball better then Arteta so hopefully we can start building attacks in midfield using Arteta as a creative lynchpin in midfield.

Arteta and Fellaini could be a recreation of Defour and Fellaini that worked so well for Standard against them.

I'm the master.

yak being out is awful news but its not the end of the world.

im sure if push comes to shove we can play cahill or fellaini there.

failing that we have anichebe jutkiewicz and baxter , all offering something different and all with a bit of desire to proove themselves.
