more five man in midfield than anything else today.

looks like we've finally found this years system with arteta and fellaini in the centre of a flat four mid with pienaar and ossie on the wings and cahill behind the lone striker (or should that be loan striker now)

ruptured achilles tendon for yak, out for the season. jesus - what chance a lukas call up?

maybe we should consider that vagner love loan again - somebodys gotta come in as saha probs wont be fit much and vaughan just doesnt ave any luck.

With Yak out, we're difinitely gonna play 4-5-1 which is our best formation. But i feel pity for Vaughn though coz he could have got his chance but too bad he's injured too. :(
Now lets hope Anichibe will rise to the occasion and take full advantage of his chance.

Vaughan is back in january, Anichebe should be fit next week. Dunno about Saha.

Its not been confirmed that Yak is out for the season, has it? 100% like?

EDIT - Moyes confirmed it. [Poor language removed] SAKE

yak being out is awful news but its not the end of the world.

im sure if push comes to shove we can play cahill or fellaini there.

failing that we have anichebe jutkiewicz and baxter , all offering something different and all with a bit of desire to proove themselves.

OK it's bad but it's not as if he's been on fire, is it? Now if had been Jags....

Looking forward to watching the game on Football First (and then again on MotD before I go to work in the morning and look all smug at the sorting frame with the three - count 'em - Spurs fans) (y)

Brilliant 3 points, i had no hope for today but a great 3 points.

We have a terrible striker crisis now though, which is very worrying.

Great win for the third time at the lane but at what cost. Moyes himself stated Yak out for the season. Looks like Saha will also be out till sometime in January or later along with Vaughan.

However all credit to the players for hanging in there and getting a result just when the Cocks were on the comeback trail.

WELL DONE TO ALL THE PLAYERS(y)

We played a fantastic game today. The whole defense was solid, Jags SUPERB, AGAIN. Arteta looked a lot better today, but I think he still has more to offer. Osman and Pienaar both had good games, Saha looked sharp till he got injured and even big Vic got himself a few chances.

Looks like the 4-5-1 worked, it better now that we only have Vic to call on... maybe Baxter will be back in contention?

quite frankly i thought we started rather unimpressively & arteta, in particular, seemed to have lost his touch completely. but they worked at it & had the lions share of possession in the first half & actually came close to scoring in the last 5 to 10 minutes before half-time. in the second half the boys in blue continued in much the same vein & i felt that if anybody were to score it would be us & so it proved. it became apparent with about 10 minutes or so to go that we were no longer chasing the second goal, but merely hanging on, & on & on as a very generous 6 minutes of stoppage time was played out. however, hang on they did & a well deserved victory rewarded their efforts.

my first match of the season - i'm hoping for more of the same at manchester city.
