I was lucky to get a pair of the LG Spzl and they’re really nice. Probably won’t get chance to wear them til next summer though! It’s been funny seeing people who normally get the exclusive drops moaning about people buying multi pairs so they can sell them on eBay and they’ve missed out and it’s not fair. I wasn’t fussed about the LG ones, liked them, but weren’t fussed about missing out but glad managed to get them.

Hmm I wasn't moaning in the sense of not getting them. It's just not nice to see people winning raffles and then flogging em for tons more really. I don't think that's right but is what it is.

Glad for you that you got hold of them. They are a dead smart trainer tbf and I have no issue with them being limited. It's good that they do it.

Anyway, got these the other week and love em, so can't complain :D

Oh I wasn’t having ago at you mate. To be honest, didn’t even read your post. I’m on about people on Twitter and Facebook. Imo, people who buy to resell at ridiculous prices are utter pricks. It’s been happening for years but in last couple of years it’s getting worse. Size? Have created this with the reissues. I remember the Island series coming out, took the day off to go size to buy the Hawaii and Tahiti’s, got there before the shop opened up, was only person there, went in and asked for Tahiti’s and they said they’d sold out. Weren’t due to go on sale to 9am. That’s why I won’t buy from there anymore.

The thing with the re issues mate, is that the quality is generally rubbish compared to the originals.

They`re lighter, which to me indicates compromise on quality, the soles aren`t as thick and if they`re suede, the first time they get wet all the colour comes out and you end up with blue / brown feet.

I generally don`t bother with reissues any more, as they`re just a waste of money.

I suspect a lot of people who buy them, don`t actually wear them, but buy them to " sit on " and then flog at a later date for inflated prices.

I`d much rather pay double the money for a pair of minter originals, even if that means waiting a while to source a pair.

I’ve noticed the difference between the originals and the re-issues as far as quality, production wise, craft wise compared to today’s re/issues. My mate is a massive collector whose kept all his pairs from the 70’s and 80’s and the quality back then was better than now. You could tell the difference in style back then compared to now too. For example, the Berns that come out recently we’re just the Brussels silhouette with a different colour way. The Berns issue from I think 2013/14 I’ve got look different from ones recently.

I’m 32 now so for me, ones that have come out in the last 15 years since I started my collection, it was all new to me. I’d buy anything and everything I could because they was first time issues for me. I don’t buy nowhere near as many now and do t bother with re-issues anymore. I’d rather buy an original pair that are battered and get them restored and make them look new. So many good restorations people out there now who do a great job. I’m sending two pairs to get done next month and he’s charging me £30 to re-paint, steam clean them and freshen them up. Seen his work and he’s good.

I’ve managed to bag loads over the years and my collection is huge but I’ve spent a fortune and starting to run out of room in the house. I’ve started to slow down since I’ve got all the ones I’ve wanted. Still a couple I wanna get like Topanga in Taiwan colourway.

My mate is what I call a new day collector, he’s started buying in the last 3 years and he’s constantly paying over the odds for them or just buying fir the sake of it and doesn’t really wear them much.

“ the sole redeemer “ in Glasgow is very good at resto work

I’m guessing the originals were made in Germany and that’s got a lot to do with the quality

Dundee sole is very good and hull restorations. Will check him out in Glasgow. You’d be surprised where some were made in the past. A lot used to get done places like Yugoslavia.

My mate who is a massive collector got an original pair of Bjon Borg Diadora from the 80’s I think, white with Gold. He purchased the limited edition remakes few years back and you can tell the difference in them. They’re lovely and wanted a pair but wasn’t paying £500 for them. Most I’ve paid is £285 for a pair of Adidas Manchester marine. Lovely colourway and had them on the other night.

I buy sneakerER to keep mine clean and the suede protector works a treat. Gonna suede protect the LG spezials when get chance.

I bought a pair of the same Bjorgs about ten years ago on the reissue - Bjorg Elite Gold.

The leather is nowhere near as good as the originals, which was so soft it was like chamois leather.

They were the ones. They only released so many didn’t they? Pretty sure he paid £500 off eBay for them. They’re lovely footwear to be fair.

You ever bought anything off 80’s casuals? My mate even said the clothes don’t feel the same. Got a couple of track tops off there think they’re smart.

Bought a reissue Fila Bjorg BJ tracky top in the green colour way off them.

It`s absolute garbage, nothing like the original, which was thick cotton.

It`s thin and lost it`s shape the moment it was washed.

Now used for walking the dog and going under a big coat in the winter.

I don`t go near any reissue stuff clothes or shoes, unless I read that it`s quality, which is never, as it`s all made in China and places like that.

Shame, as there`s a massive market still and people will pay big money for good gear.

I’ve got two fila ones from there but like you said the quality is cheap. Got a couple of Sergio track tops and the quality held up. I’ve noticed even stuff like stone island is poor now compared to when I started wearing it 16 years ago. Got 4 stone island jackets from when I started my apprentership and they’ve held up well. Missus got me one for my 30th birthday, washed it and it faded, went from a charcoal colour to light grey.

The market is huge and creeping into mainstream but they’re just gonna mass produce garbage product.

Might have to try purchase few track tops from original release and check the difference.

My boss as got a Sergio she’ll tracksuit from the 80’s. it’s smart and he’s been offered few hundred for it.

Fred Perry’s are the same too.

Gone really light, fade and lose their shape.

They’re gonna kill their own brands by pumping out rubbish.

Best quality of clothing I’ve had in recent years is M.A. Strum. The quality of their products is second to none. Got two Fred Perry jumpers from few years back, went to watch a band in the star and garter, got covered in beer and all the stitching starting coming away. Managed to get it fixed, put them in the wash and just ruined the two of them. Was gutted.
