Payet has a far better pedigree than Gill had. His stats don't lie, the most assists of ANY player in Europe last season.

The only question was/is can he do it in the premier league.

We've yet to find out, but lets just say todays performance was rather encouraging if you're a West Ham fan!

I think he's met Martinez and the deals pretty much done but is also speaking with Stoke out of courtesy.

Andy Johnson did it with Wigan when he signed for us and other players have done the same. Respectful to hear out the terms etc.

There is no way he would sign for Stoke over us, whether thats a loan with us or a permanent with Stoke. The only way he would sign with Stoke is if they offered absolutely enormous money and in which case we would be foolish to match it.

Can see him coming to us.

I'm not trying to cause an arguement, but i am interested in why people think everton is a much better move for him than stoke. A lot have people have said it is but not said why. Think of it from the players point of veiw and not an evertonians. I'm interestet in people thoughts on this.

Hughes' comments are very confident, I'd be surprised if he ended up here rather than there now. The fact we only want a loan vs a fee and thus an instant signing on fee suggests he'll go there too. We're about to see if money talks.
