Exactly. No way they will stay fit thoughtout the season. Distin + Alcaraz played about 30 games last season.

It's a cinch they are not going to play every game, but is a quality centre half who probably is first choice at the team he's at now going to come and warm the bench until he get his chance?

We do have money, there's no question of that. I'm sure we do.

The benefit for us of waiting until the season has started and more importantly the window is closing, is that we can tend to get our targets quite a bit cheaper than we would in July. People just need to wait it out I think and recall previous windows before starting to get too frustrated.

That's ok if our targets are prepared to wait till the close of the window, if not where does that leave us.

Jags almost did last year, John Terry did, so it's not exactly impossible.

He may surprise us and play a back three. That would then hopefully force him to change the barry/mcarthy mental block.

Got to feel for Martinez to be honest, i do believe that Shaqiri, Ogbonna and Payet were all genuine targets and those in charge failed to get them in for him.

I guess Moomin was right all along, we can't compete with the likes of Stoke and West Ham anymore
