This is depressingly underwhelming

I remember very clearly a feeling of disappointment when we got Stones late in the transfer window,when Fer was the target.

I still find it hard to fathom you haven't made any signings especially with the new TV deal coming in. Some exceptional players have gone to smaller clubs while you're still dithering about. Would have loved to see the likes of Shaqiri, Payet, Vertout, Cabaye etc playing with Lukaku & Barkley. Shame.

EDIT: Apparently, Van Dijk is on his way to Southampton. Surprised you aren't in for him considering you don't actually have any backup CB's with Alcaraz & Distin gone.

Many on here seem to share your thoughts. There is however a marked difference between signing players the club want, and just signing players for the sake of spending money.

As ever it'll go down to the wire, I anticipate some incomings to cover the gaps in the squad. I'm a touch more patient than most though.

It's bad enough listening to our own fans fume about signings, now we've even got oppositions fans fuming on our behalf.
