Funes Mori is less promising, though not without his positives. Villarreal are reported to be interested as back-up for Mateo Musacchio and Everton are also keen. Funes Mori is strong, quick and dangerous at attacking set pieces. He scored a towering header on Wednesday night to put River 3-0 up in the Libertadores final second leg but is prone to lapses in concentration. With someone alongside him to act as the brains in defence (a job Jonathan Maidana does for River), Funes Mori can do the legwork.

Sounds ideal, someone who needs to prove himself but has a lot of potential without being a kid. Has experience of winning trophies. Danger at set pieces is good too considering we are as blunt as can be

Rumoured to be US $
@HEGS_com: Everton apparently happy to meet River Plate's US$5m asking price for Ramiro Funes Mori. https://t.co/NsZxanmeV2

Crikey that's only £3.2m. Find that hard to believe, but great value compared to what you'd find in England anyway, though undoubtedly a risk.

That should leave plenty for a playmaker and striker.

Hardly rave reviews but he's young enough to improve, especially as centre backs peak around 28-32.

He'll have to learn and fast though. Jagielka will need to do a lot of talking to him during the game by the sounds of it.

Echo saying it's 5.5m but either way I've never heard of him so by my own personal theory that makes him am absolute crackerjack of a signing

Even if it is in sterling it's a hell of a lot cheaper than whacking £15m on Scott Dann who turns like long life UHT milk. Takes our summer spending to roughly £12m too. You'd like to think there's about £25m left for the other 2.

Exactly what we don't need then. Anton Mk2.
