Because theirs literally nowhere linking us to him other than the usual man and his dog down the pub. Our fans must be the most gullible around, surely the Charlie Austin 9pm rumours and the Kagawa twitter debacle should show unless it's on either the BBC or SSN you shouldn't believe it!

I seem to recall a tweet from some journo or something a few days back on here saying we were offered Yarmolenko but are not interested? that's just as likely as this rumour.

The same SSN that told us Lukaku was having a medical at WBA when he was top n tailing with Mirallas in Belgium.
I agree we shouldnt get excited but SSN is just as bad as papers for making stuff up

True, and, to my cost, true. I hurt my knee, recovered, went in half comitted a year later, twisted knee and knackered ligaments and never fully recovered. He is still young though and will get better in the role the more he plays.

Whomever Roberto has targeted as his main acquisition I would expect we have a good chance of landing him. He appears to have the ability to convince people to play for him.
If it is still in the back of his mind, it shouldn't be. He broke his leg 5ish years ago. Done mine to haha. I'd like to see him and McCarthy but I don't think it would work.

I hope he knows who the player that we need is. And hopefully you're right!
Money talks but Martinez could blag me into singing for the rs
Pienaar has always been quite slow but great with his feet and of course threading balls through. His ball retention abilities is what made our attacks down that flank so effective with Baines, too.

Yarmolenko looks like more fleet-footed and powerful (and generally: terrifyingly ace), which offers something different, indeed. Bit of a shame that Pienaar's apparent demise has coincided with the arrival of a true slot-master at the club in the form of Lukaku - but things change and even though Baines showed no sign of slowing up before his injury maybe it's time to build on a new axis of pain, based on speed/raw henchness...

...slipping into hyperbole in the last part there but, in short, I agree a like-for-like 'peak-Pienaar' would be awesome, but the time will come around/may have come anyway to rely on other strengths in our team for the way we set-up in attack. Challenge is incorporating the fullbacks into this, probably.
Quick thinker though.

Yep really intelligent player, don't think I got that across in all my waffle. It would be nice to have someone who can unlock defences, anyway - whatever skillset they have.

Surely this is Barry's last season, so if Song is going cheap now and we can get him I can see the worth in signing him now. Lets face it Gibson
probably won't be fit for most of the season. So nothing wrong with McCarthy

Barry, Besic and Song as our 4 deep lying midfielders.

McCarthy and Barry are first choice under Martinez, so there would be no way a player as good as Song would come to us unless he was guaranteed first team football.

Surprised nobody seems to have done the math on the left back one and come up with the following:

2 x Left back out 12-14 weeks + ex England left back leaving Roma = surely not!!!!
