Not really one for twitter rumours but if that Everton Aren't We page say there's interest, then I'd be inclined to agree there's interest.

They called Lukaku at the very start of last summer and took loads of grief for it but they were spot on.

Why's there no chance?

Because theirs literally nowhere linking us to him other than the usual man and his dog down the pub. Our fans must be the most gullible around, surely the Charlie Austin 9pm rumours and the Kagawa twitter debacle should show unless it's on either the BBC or SSN you shouldn't believe it!

I seem to recall a tweet from some journo or something a few days back on here saying we were offered Yarmolenko but are not interested? that's just as likely as this rumour.

I was always told as a kid if you go in half hearted you'll get hurt. He does need to improve that side of his game, he sprints at the fella with the ball and then slows down when he gets close. He's still boss.

Can't see us getting him tbf mate. I Would love him though

True, and, to my cost, true. I hurt my knee, recovered, went in half comitted a year later, twisted knee and knackered ligaments and never fully recovered. He is still young though and will get better in the role the more he plays.

Whomever Roberto has targeted as his main acquisition I would expect we have a good chance of landing him. He appears to have the ability to convince people to play for him.

...probably should be discussed in the Barkley thread, but final word on this. I suspect it's more that he's not the tackling type than it being linked to his injury. He's a big muscular lad, not easy to have the mobility to tackle and much more natural to stay on his feet.

In truth, the signings that actually happen generally are teased first by "some nobody in the pub" before they are some pillock from a newspaper.

People need to learn how to evaluate sources and information for themselves properly. Or don't, why am I arsed?

30 games isn't third choice. It's rotation.

That's how many games Alcaraz and Distin played between them last season.

Any centre half coming will not be coming to warm the bench. Players can't play 38 games a season + cup matches these days.

30 games is a lot even though we were in the Eupora, can't see us needing a centre half to fill in that often this season , major injuries apart. If we have little money I rather see it spent on a playmaker.

Just looking back over a few seasons, and it suggests we 100% do need a third CB to chip in with 30 plus games as we more or less always have 3 CBs playing 30 games or more. Last season that contribution was shared between Distin and Alcaraz as 3rd and 4th backup.

I certainly don´t think Browning or Galloway are ready to contribute that much whether it would be one of them playing a lot or the two of them getting equal chances. Too much pressure if we go on a bad run, given the moan levels of last season.

That doesn't mean there's no chance though. He fits the bill and there's a rumour from a semi reliable source. It's far from impossible.

Bang on there mate. !

I think you're right, we spent two years budgets on Rom, gambling on getting into the top four/winning the Europa. Which didn't happen, if Rom can keep up yesterday's form. I don't think it will be such a bad thing in May. At the very least we're going to make a huge profit on him.
