The only change I would make it banning you for failing to write below quoted text you contrary dog bothering quilt.

Agreed. Just trying to be one of those "I did it before it was cool" teenagers.

Seriously @Zatara when you grow up, real life will smack you in the face.

On topic:

I think we will be waiting till deadline day.

...12 months ago there was rumour upon rumour regarding Barkley but his performances last season mean there appears no interest or links this time around. I wonder after his much better start if some of the big boys will start making noises in the last few weeks of the window. I don't for one minute think he'll go but the vultures might start hovering again.

This is the transfer thread gents.
Post match discussion in the match thread please

oops sorry didn't realise.

i'm glad window only has two weeks left to be honest. always been confident we'd do good business and still am, the end being nigh means we have to get on with it.

question here, hope it's okay to stay in this thread as i don't believe it deserves another one.

do we think a transfer window shut would benefit or hinder us if it shut before the season starts?

i mean would the players we usually snip up on a loan/low fee become available because sometimes they come available when a manager feels they're not ready/have started the season poorly and so panic buy a new replacement. that won't happen as much if they haven't played any competitive games in my opinion.

If the Alex Song am talk is true, he surely doesn't seem to keen on Besic.
If we got song you could send Mo out on loan to get some prem experience! I think Mo will do it for us, but have not seen enough from him to say he will defrost do it for us!

Surely this is Barry's last season, so if Song is going cheap now and we can get him I can see the worth in signing him now. Lets face it Gibson probably won't be fit for most of the season. So nothing wrong with McCarthy, Barry, Besic and Song as our 4 deep lying midfielders.

i really really want martinez to go for a cheeky loan bid for cuadrado - those are the type of loans that always seem to work well for us. it just benefits both teams and like lukaku could open us up for a perm.

he obviously rates him after what he said before the world cup and surely chelsea won't be dashing to cut their losses already.

nailed it. mccarthy and barkley in centre mid for most home games without the need for barry for me. we should play city exactly how we played yesterday though imo, regardless of it being at home. play on the counter with mirallas starting for cleverley. might be a bit attacking though ha.
Barkley doesn't tackle enough to play in a 2 in d middle

i think with ledson coming through we shouldn't be actively looking to buy a replacement. give ledson a chance first and then decide. anyway that's another 1 or 2 years left. barry can have another 2 years left if we stop using him in about 11 or 12 of the home games where i don't feel he's necessary. you then have besic (who i think could make a cracking DM with maturity) and mccarthy who i'd like to see there as well.
