Depends. If we rolled in Van Dijk, Yarmolenko, Song and Austin off the back of it, all for about the same fee, it'd negate a lot of complaints.

If we "Arteta'd" it, then there'd be full scale riots of course.

I think SOS, Blue Union and that other twitter account would have a field day.

The prices for those players would go through the roof if we sell...and history tells us we won't spend it all is anyway... Would be a massive risk for the board as things appear to be coming to a head over them anyway

I wouldn't be surprised if 35m was the figure they set, however... I think the wind has changed.

It's a hard sell to paint this kid as a Judas, he's got the face of a choir boy. With the penny dropping in the mainstream media about Everton's pauper status, I think the boards self preservation instincts will kick in here and he'll not be sold.

Best steer clear of white underpants for a couple of weeks all the same.

Considering the banner on Saturday and the general unrest from the fans (mostly before saturday's result) I think selling Stones, especially for £35 mill would send the protesters over the edge and the rest of the fan base that usually sit on the fence, to start getting at the board. Plus it makes Martinez look stupid

If these proposed transfers were funded by selling Stones (on the cheap, £35m+), the board would be run out of town. The anti-board movement would be massively boosted, as it would mean:
1. Yet another year of zero spend
2. The board have pocketed the Sky money or
3 The board are so financially incompetent that they cant run at a profit even when the league is awash with money.

Surely they wouldn't be that stupid??

Where did the Alex Song links come from?

Not only an area we have quite a lot of players for, he had to have knee surgery at the end of July for a bit of floating bone - meant to be out for 2-3 months last I saw.

Of all the rumours going round at the mo, I reckon this is the least likely.

We simply don't need him.

(Unless someone else goes)
