When they tweet random crap like "work permit coming!" and "two clubs in for Stones!" then they're basically a Twitter version of the old Clubcall on Teletext, jumping up and down hoping for retweets.

You won't be alone mate. People will kick royally off and rightfully so. Even if the price is ludicrous.

Still makes absolutely no sense to sell Stones this summer which is my main reason for not believing it. He won't be angling for a move, we don't need the cash right now and he'll be worth a truckload next summer after another season and the euros.

So even *if* we're resigned to losing him at some point, this summer would be completely nonsensical. Plus Martinez has put himself on the line about it.

I'll say now that I I'm not ITK at all. However, it would seem a little strange/risky for us to start Stones yesterday if things were that far along.

Stones' head might not have been right, Roberto might have been worried he wasn't committed to the team, or his agent/Chelsea might have demanded he not play in case of risk of injury.

Suppose things could have changed in the last 24 hours. Or maybe we started him hoping he would pull a hammy!

Depends. If we rolled in Van Dijk, Yarmolenko, Song and Austin off the back of it, all for about the same fee, it'd negate a lot of complaints.

If we "Arteta'd" it, then there'd be full scale riots of course.
