I just noticed the Ukrainian league schedule. He'd be used to 26 match seasons and a massive winter break. That'll be a culture shock to him if he comes over here!

He played 11 games in the Europa League on top of that though so probably close to 37 games in total last season. The winter break is just something most players have to deal with when they move to the prem.

Just been on a Kiev forum to begin Operation Track Yarmolenko and their fans are not one bit happy. They think we're on the same level as Stoke so he'll reject us... however, I think that's because most are begging him to stay until January then leave to help them out in the Champions League.

In fact, one of their fans goes as far to call us a "second-class club" hahahaha.

We'd have more comeback if they hadn't tonked us last season I suppose.

And they still play during the winter break, just in Austria or similar playing friendlies. They don't play due to literally needing a break due to winter. Not for the sake of resting.

Do you think he is the type of central attacking midfielder Martinez is after though? I see him as playing a very similar role to Mirallas.

Very different to the type of player Martinez initially said he wanted. I think it's due to a few things, probably first that the type of player he wants isn't available this window along with maybe the chance to sign Yarmolenko is too good to pass up.

But first, let's wait until there is some concrete evidence that suggests it's on.
