apparently stoke wanted him ahead of shakiri , he even wanted the move too. but the kiev chairman said stoke were too small time for a player of his quality and wouldn't allow the deal.

if he comes , its us or spurs.

Back when it looked like Yarmolenko might be off to Stoke, he was quoted as saying this.

It's sounds daft to me because the lad only has a year left on his contract, when it's up he can go wherever he likes, and Kyiv don't get a penny for him.
