Take Barry out of the middle and we lose vital cover for the defence and control when we've got possession, he's pretty vital to how we try and play and we've got no one else who can dictate from the back. He's also slower than snail in a coma and would get run ragged by any able bodied right sided player.

No issue with him being backup for a few games here and there but if he's all we've got for now then we need another or another body from the squad to fill in. I've never been keen on Oviedo there as I see him more forward and his injury record isn't great. Stones didn't get many games at full back early on but has shone in his natural position, left back isn't Galloways natural position.

You can't say that. It's a recurring injury but even if you are right look at our fixtures before he comes back.

Exactly, oviedo is fit now, gallowat doesnt sound too serious and baines will be back in 7 weeks. New Left back would be such a waste of wages

Galloway is good enough for the easier games but as we saw against City it's unfair to the kid to play him in those games in not even his natural position. There must be a free transfer or loan floating about somewhere to get us until January. Big game against Bournemouth for Bryan. Lets hope he plays a blinder.

Galloway has played more professional games of football as a left back than he has as a centreback. Oviedo is available for tomorrow and Baines will be back shorty.

Even if the worst case scenario happened and all were out injured for a substantial amount of time we've got other options in the squad to cover.

There is no way we are adding another leftback to this squad when it contains 3 and we've got one out on loan who's just signed a 5 year contract extension. We've not got a limitless budget and our club can't simply buy a player every time someone is injured.

Precisely this. Just cos Gibson has played in a couple of CL games and scored one goal doesn't make him better. Barton has played more matches, scored more goals, more assists and has more complete passes than Gibson. No need for stats even cos Gibson has hardly played half the games as Barton has.
