Come on you have to admit we losing a player who will be the best defender in the league in a few years
Any of them so long as its to us, what the hell is begovic thing going there good keeper should be playing not sitting on the bench behind one of the best at the moment in the country.haha which one are they going to sell to accommodate howard? courtois or begovic?
For all the stick he got Distan /jags looked better together prior to last year.
Not sure what to think about stones putting in a request, timing stinks but are we getting fed a line here, we take the money he takes the heat in return for a transfer , never know what to think anymore with this lot
Eh ... No one knows til he plays in it. That's the only measure I mark by.I read a report on him and it did not read well too light weight for the prem!
Tell me three centre halves who are better than him and will be playing in 3 years in the prem
Yes. Look at Suarez at LFC. They rejected it; he had the year of his life.
It can happen.
But we have no idea what has been said to him. Someone has been in his ear to force the issue, it could have gone from initial doscussion "we want you to be a part of this club and you'll replace JT" to "hand in a request and you'll be our number one starter".
Theories everywhere, but players change their ind like the wind. Look at Delph
Name three then.Centre halves know how to clear their lines and defend. So that's a pretty long list that could be compiled there.
...then we have an unhappy unfocussed player and no transfer money. That's true. For a player who many claim is so 'grounded', he really has put one in the clubs and managers back. Still though, my position wouldn't change. I wouldn't be letting him go. If we refuse all bids outright, he'll still play for us. No players, especially one of his age would want to sit on the bench all year. Give him no say in the matter, he signed a contract to stay for 4 years.
...then we have an unhappy unfocussed player and no transfer money.
Exactly mate. Martinez has said all summer he isn't for sale, if he gives in now then it tells a real story.
Maybe so, but at the end of the day, it was his decision. He's had 2 months to think about it long and hard, hearing both sides to it. The route he is taken is disrespectful to the club, the manager, the players and the fans.
