It really would not have been too hard or too expensive to improve several positions this summer - instead we have not and once again start the season on the back foot - utter shambles. How is it that even newly promoted clubs seem to outspend us every season? We might as well have the Oystons in charge of this club - it really is a joke.

Because they come into our league with a squad of nobody's and get a massive windfall from TV money etc. They have to go out and replace the dross in their squad with some premiership quality. They may sign 5 players and look like they've had a great window but in reality their squad is stil full of championship players on 10/15 grand a week

We've signed Cleverley, Deulofeu, Mori, Rodriguez, Holgate and possibly Lennon. We've kept McCarthy, Coleman, Barkley, Lukaku, Mirallas and Stones.

Good transfer window in my opinion and far better than last season where we only brought in Besic (can't remember who else).

I know that's not enough for the knee jerkers though who delude themselves in to hoping we're suddenly going to become Man City in the transfer window, signing £50m players for fun.

Not at all expecting a man city style transfer window, it's the fact Martinez has said a no.10 and we clearly need that looking at the first 3 games and with 2 hours 45 left to go no sign of one. Deulofeu is a good signing and that's about it, clevs has done well, the rest under 21 signings (apart from mori)..

Who does this mythical #10 start over? So we play him instead of Kone, do we leave Mirallas on the bench? Do we drop Barkley for him?

Martinez said the stuff about a 10 about a year ago, since then Kone and Barkley have both found a bit of form. I'd love to bring in a strong 10 for depth but lets not pretend we could get someone who would walk into the first team without breaking the bank.
