Why did it fall through mate?

Owner and player disagreed about a supposed private conversation about a new deal. That was covered up in public, and the "will play in the CL" line was used to paper over the owner deciding not to sell him.

Might have happened post CL draw, but owner kyboshed that by announcing he was staying almost immediately. Player loves club so wont rock the boat.

Paperwork and that is ready and on someones desk at Goodison.

In assuming Lennon is bought for 4m, that brings Martinez NET spend at 37.8m, over 5 windows.

Maybe that's why we finished 11th, among other things of course
