Erm, he's a different type of player... much more of a traditional sitter who dictates play. McCarthy's more of a destructive player, not really a passer, and has more athleticism as well.

They both do ultimately the same job but have different characteristics....both could do a similar job for Everton. Clasies better passing ability might just be what we need - he's a bit of a terrier too for his size. He'll be. Good signing for Saints, as Tadic was.

What galls me is the idea that we would consider spending £8m for someone who can't dislodge Phil Jones form the starting XI, and LVG will immediately replace him with Ron Vlaar for free. We should be in for Vlaar.
