Transfer Window Thread

I know what RM said today but as with all managers during transfer window time they can bend the truth a little.
I think there may be interest in Evans but if it happens ,as with Lennon, it could be last day.

At present we have Jagielka, Stones and Browning. Unless we get some kind of injury crisis we should be alright for the first number of games.
Utd lost out completely on Cleverley and could do the same with Evans. Spurs are in exactly the same situation with Lennon.
Both Spurs and Utd will play hardball with both of these players right up to the last day, but it makes no sense refusing to sell a player for a modest fee rather than lose them for nothing.
Neither of those players may come to Everton, but they are leaving their clubs.

I have no problem with signing Evans I have a problem with paying more tham 4m for a Utd reserve with no future at the club and twelve months left on his contract. I think he is a decent player.
Ironically if you look at his career stats his career at Utd went into decline after SAF left . He averaged 20 league games a season for the previous five seasons under SAF.

This might be an accurate guess, although it seems we tried the same with Cleverley last season and Utd decided to be stubborn. Probably ended up working out best for us on that occasion as we avoided a transfer fee and weren't really crying out for Cleverley (unless it turns out he can be the much fantasised playmaker...).

With Evans I suppose it depends on the extent Martinez might want him here versus how keen Utd are to get rid.

Could the fee have been agreed with United and Evans' personal demands have put off Everton? He'll be on a wedge at United like surely.

As stated above by others, with players like Evans and Lennon its going to be a deadline day offer. Nothing will happen now because the initial prices quoted will be too high.

They both have a year left on their Contracts, their clubs will want to sell rather than risk losing them for free, and the players would both probably want to join/sign long-term deals to secure their financial futures. Everton is also still considered a "proper club" rather than the other clubs who will probably want them (stoke/Sunderland/Swansea/palace). If you join one of them your basically admitting to everyone that your happy with lower/mid-table and are in it soley for the money.

Spurs and United aren't stupid. They know they aren't going to get what they have quoted for the players, but they may be able to sell them for a little more than everton want to pay. Also if they join on deadline day it could help derail the start of our season because they will miss the first few games and not have time to properly bed in/get used to the way we play.

It's annoying but unless your willing to pay silly money (for pretty good but not amazing players) that's the way it is.

[Poor language removed] I misread the site, I knew Kono was misread Yarmolenko had gone there too.

Last rumour for him seems to be from Roma.

The usual Italian teams and bundesliga ones mainly, oh and the usual rs, spurs chelsea ones will no doubt surface this window again as they did last year.

If we have enough hed be obtainable, in a war torn country, not likely on anything like prem wages, bigger stage and only 25 so a good shop window if he does want that psg, city, chelsea type move later down the line.

Wont happen though lol

Evans will probably happen. Papers probably a bit premature in declaring 8 mill but so many said it at once we probably are in negotiations. Ball is in our court as United will be desperate to get a fee whereas Evans is probably happy to hang on for his signing on fee and we're not in a massive rush. Reckon we'll see it done got about 5 mill at some point in the next few weeks.

Mate, three of them teams you say are lower/midtable finished above us last season.

Fume if we do, and fume if we don't .....or.... Fumis sera, Sed Non Fumis......replacing the club motto.

Apparently, taking the fans feelings into consideration.
