Stoke have well gone OTT with their signings this summer.
With 7/8 new players to bed it could be a QPR/Hull/Norwich scenario were they have gone and got in to much and cant manage the squad size
I know cheeky buggers buying 7 players what are they thinking!! We wouldn't want that would we

I completely agree about him being the player we need, except for the fact that'd he'd cost about 25 million. Also, he's got Champions League with Wolfsburg.

Try £60m ish.
Wolfsburg don't need to sell anyone. What a lovely position to be in as a club.

Agree though, he's a fantastic footballer - shame he didn't fit in with Chelsea.

I expect a player to sign this week.

Love a bit of optimism! :)

I agree though, must have something in the pipeline........musn't we?

I am going with Johnny Evans, reckon he fits the bill. Won't expect to walk straight into the side and is a good back up to the current 2 occupants. On the brink of signing him to it going all quiet, same as it did with Del and Cleverly, reckon he is the defender we will bring in.

I'd dispute that. He had two left footed centre-backs, one of whom was especially comfortable on the ball. Alcaraz, Jagielka and Stones should have made a very competent back three. Whatever the reason which led to this being abandoned was, it surely cannot have been the composition of the centre backs.

For all of Alcaraz's defensive failings you could not accuse him of being unable to put his foot on it and pick a pass.
I would suggets that the reason we went away from three at the back was that Alcaraz, regardless of his ability to pick a pass, was monstrously poop at defending.

Easily one of the five worst players I've ever seen in an Everton shirt. I'm talking Nyarko-level bad.

Rather than saying 'we don't talk about other peoples players' he said 'no there's nothing in that' so I'd say we're not after Evans.

Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United: Has Memphis Depay revealed United's 'mystery striker' target?
Could the Everton forward be set to arrive at Old Trafford this summer?

Speculation has been rife over who will arrive at Manchester United this summer after Louis van Gaal suggested the club were in negotiations with a 'mystery' striker.

Following the departure of Robin van Persie and the decision not to make Radamel Falcao's loan move permanent, United have been expected to bolster their front line.

A host of names have been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, but last week Van Gaal suggested the media were off the scent on who it would be.

"He [the 'surprise'] is in the process," said the Dutchman. "It's not the striker the media has written about. You have to wait and see."

Could the 'mystery' man be Romelu Lukaku?

Romelu Lukaku celebrates for Everton

Memphis Depay has posted a cryptic message on Instagram that has sent the rumour mill spinning out of control.

The young Netherlands international has posted a picture of himself with the Everton and Belgium striker from their summer holiday together along with a cryptic message which reads: "See you soon".

With Manchester United and Everton not meeting until mid-October and their international sides not scheduled to play it's been suggested Depay is referring to Lukaku joining him at Old Trafford.

Nowhere near the five worst. He had some bad games when he was unfit, but he was actually decent on the ball and in the air and covered injuries alright at times. Positionally suspect but nowhere near Nyarko level.
