I think James Chester's stock has risen more because of his International performances with Wales rather than with Hull.. Never impressed me at club level but for Wales has been playing really well... But so has Robson-Kanu so be careful

spot on. then again, in a back 5 where the wing backs are hardly the most adventerous as well.

International football does weird things to players. Krancjar who struggled to get in Portsmouth's team used to run rings around Gerrard and Lampard, the same way Diamanté who couldn't cut it at West Ham would terrorise our back 4 for Italy. I guess the ultimate proof is that Howard looks like a goalkeeper for the U.S. Honourable mentions to Alexandersson, Kleberson, Hugo Viana, and Podolski who looked bang average in the prem but turned into world beaters when facing England for their national side.

Love or hate Bobby but I do really think young players will look at us as a great place to join.. I think that unless this lad's a Utd fan he'd seriously consider us
The Daily Post think he will but guess we'll see.

After developing John Stones into the most highly-sought after English defender, Everton are ready to hijack Manchester United’s attempts to sign the next prospect out of Barnsley, Mason Holgate. The Daily Star reports the Blues will offer to take the 18-year-old defender – who recently spent 10 days with Manchester United – on trial.

Holgate was tipped to join the Red Devils in a £1million deal but is supposedly ready to snub Louis van Gaal’s side over concerns regarding how much playing time he’d be given.

See distin is now spouting the bigger club thing if press to be believed. ... That's him of clapping list for this year !

Dont let this get to you my friend, alot of players say big clubs or bigger clubs based on the money or current trends. Right now Sylvain is saying bigger club because City, Chelsea, Arsenal and United are bigger clubs today. Same way Jags, Cahill, Arteta and others said Everton were a bigger club than the ones they were at. Truth be told a big club is not about just history, its about history plus money today, hence why LFC are a big club but Sterling moved onto a bigger club, even though city couldnt polish Liverpool's trophy cabinet (history wise).

We can't afford that garbage for 7 million.

We are scraping through the bins at the back of Morrison's for players.

We are the official scruffs of the Premiership.

Still July mate. Scraping the bins at the back of Morrison's in late August then fair play, fume.

As far as I'm concerned, there's no excuses for him. He knows how that comment would be taken.

The petty nobhead.

Manchester United have taken teenage prospect Mason Holgate on trial with his club, Barnsley, expecting the defender to leave Oakwell.
Holgate, who has also been linked with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Everton, has the chance to impress United's coaching staff this week.

Barnsley boss Lee Johnson had earlier said the League One club were resigning themselves to losing the 18-year-old, who can play at right-back or centre-back and is reported to be valued at around £1 million. "There's been a lot of interest in Mason and, at this stage it looks like we're destined to lose him, but you never know what's going to happen," Johnson told the Sheffield-based Star newspaper last week. "The player can always change his mind.

"It's great for the lad to be training with Manchester United, it's a fantastic opportunity, but of course I want him to stay and really feel as though he could benefit from a full season in our first team." Johnson added: "It's an easy sell [to try and keep Mason here]. He played quite a lot of games last season, but I think the best route for him is to play 40 games for us next season and get as much experience as he can.

"There's lot of different routes to the top, but hopefully he decides to stay with us. But of course it must been really tempting to go to United or another Premier League club. "The question then is 'How many games will you play?' You could go out on loan, but selfishly I want Mason to stay and develop more as a player here."
Joe Royle always signs him for me on FM.
