Amazing how the mood of this thread changes when the manager finally confirms the things we've been saying for the last month. Imagine when we actually sign someone!

We are not Crystal Palace and having to pay over the odds
 
Austin in the current market is worth £15 mil the bloke's English and netted 18 goals for a crap side last season.

Theirs no way we are signing him or Rondon or any other striker costing £10 mil+ to sit on the bench. I think we'll have about £15-20 mil combined for a playmaker and CB with a striker coming in on loan most likely, it's obvious Martinez has only realised today Kone can't do it for us, up until today it was only 2 signings needed now it's 3.

I can count just fine, judging by the fact I had to ask you twice, it suggests you struggle with it sometimes.

Yes. But key to a negotiation. You never ever ever go straight in with a high offer.

I'd steer clear of Austin myself like but to say he's not worth 15m for a team in the richest league in the world in receipt of a bumper deal when English players are at a premium is a bit stupid.

Basically scored goals at every English level, is given a season in the Premier League and proves that he can score there too, netting 18.

How is he not worth £15m exactly? It might be a bit much given our budget but if we weren't short of cash I'd happily snap him up for that. He's a quality goalscorer.
