If the papers are to be believed Everton and Stoke met the valuation but Shaqiri just didn't fancy them. The other clubs that Shaqiri has wanted to go to either tried to get him for less or have been waiting to sell before buying.

Frankly although it was only mentioned here yesterday if Juan Quintero is available for 20m euros we should be going for him. Bologna have pulled out and now Fernabache look favourites.

He went for him twice in last 18 months or so.

I hardly remember anyone banging down the door to get him straight into the first team.
Could just be a case of the clubs he has gone to have been a great fit for him and he has improved a lot over the last couple of years

He was highly regarded as a youngster...I recall at age 15 he was touted as possibly being a great...He was definitely in the top 5 for his age then.

Evans and Lennon I have been told are both trying to be done. Long negotiations though.
Shaqiri - I dont know if we have bid but I know Martinez has tried twice before

I guess they will be leaning on his medical records to drop the price on Evans and Spurs will take it to the wire before they roll over.

Personally I think Evans is not the answer and Lennon is only going to become slower on a last paydirt contract.

Looks and has the feeling of desperation to me.

Praet would be my first choice as he reminds me a bit of Eriksson at spurs who I think is one of the most under rated players in the league (Coutinho plays 10 games and gets in team of the year, not a mention of Eriksson)
If we couldn't get Praet then id like Shaqiri
After that it would be Connor Salmon

He's nowhere near as bad as people make out. I think he might surprise like Gibson and cleverley.
