I'm holding out hope he's got a long term plan but navigating the medium term may be troublesome for him.

I like him developing the young lads much more than Moyes was ever prepared to. So that's a start.

Agree with this, I think that may be a reason why he isn't rushing to get 8/9 players in like some other teams as he wants to give some of them squad places to the kids.
Although I do think the likes of Galloway, Ledson, Dowell & Henen would benfit from a full season loan morethen just being around the squad and playing for the u21s
