I dont care if we get loans in. These can have an option to buy at the end and if so, will be a low risk move. In the modern age, with FFP, low risk is where lots of clubs are going. Stevan Jovetic is on an 18 month loan to Inter! Its just the modern way.

On another note, Lennon hasnt been given squad no, let get in there. They clearly dont want him so price should be reduced

Loan to buy should be utilised wherever possible and appropriate.

Don't want to be a poopy pants but the shaqiri news is probably to get people to buy season tickets.

Will do backflips if we get him. (I can't actually do backflips.)

Sounds very like we had enough money this year for a 10-13m 'number 10' and 5-6m for a cb, Martinez has used the entire pre season to see what becomes available as with 20m and needing 2 (now 3) players he had to be completely sure and hope that certain things fell into place - much as they did his first season with Barry and Lukaku becoming available.

Think myself that Austin and Shaqiri are tied together and if the loan comes off we will use that money set aside to bring austin in, if its fails to come off then we will use it to bring in a number 10, think also that the Hallovic rumours of a loan could come off if Shaqiri comes in too, doubles Martinez options come the end of the season with little risk.

Still prefer Yarmolenko myself (get Kanchelskis to have a word with him ;)), but Shaqiri could turn into a brilliant player for us 'IF' the rumours are true - and given the people reporting it, then it's as good as any source out their.

Will give him the benefit of the doubt till i see how the next week or so pans out now

the people reporting it are as good as you'll get journalistically mate, not the usual metro/star fair

Stoke agree 12 million to buy him from Inter.

We go "PLEASE SIR, CAN WE LOAN HIM?"

It's more to do with can he fit in with the team, is he a [Poor language removed], can he settle in England, is he a party lad.

not doubting the quality of the source... just seen us linked to a bunch of loan deals that have fallen through and well don't want to get my hopes up cause shaqiri in would be ridiculous!

Being the national team captain would suggest he isnt a utter [Poor language removed], deffo been some major falling out with mancini though, but seem to remember mancini has form for alienating some players, so maybe not so black and white, one thing that stands out for me though is that he wants to be central to a teams plans, and we have that slot available in spades, language shouldnt be a problem with the belgium lads either, think most swizz have a decent level of english too

The sources may be credible but none of them have said Shaqiri is signing. Inter may reject the loan or Shaqiri himself may say no. He doesnt seem to want to leave Inter. I'd be delighted if it comes off but im not holding my breath.

Shaqiri may prefer a loan. If after a year he dosent like it in england he can go elsewere

Plus he doesnt find himself in another situation like at inter, best aituation for the player and for us tbh, especially if it frees up money wed planned to use for that position

The latest on Keitsuke Honda is he might be on his way to Genoa.Doesn't seem to be any proper mileage to the Everton links there.

Loans are the perfect way for Everton to operate especially with a view to buy. We can't waste money on duds that get bought on a 3-5 year deal.....Everton is a unique club and the culture IMHO means players need to acclimatise...it's all about team and not individual and most players egos struggle with that. If them dirty bunch across the park want to call us Everloan whilst we laugh at a wasted £250M that's fine by me.

Loans also keep the team fresh as it means new faces every season, and the loan players all have to impress to have a chance of a full time deal. With keeping the core of the squad and not selling the star men I'd say we have it bang-on in terms of recruitment given our financial positioning compared to others.

And, as someone said earlier...."loans keeps Stones"

A loan for Shaquiri means we can keep our song Roberto had a Dream song too.

A new one perhaps:

When the ball hits the goal
It's Shaquiri on loan
Or Chaz Austin

When we go 2-0 up
And we're still in the Cup
It's not Kone

Brendan's emptied the bank
And the Sh!te are still w@nk
We're Everloannnnn
