Travel advice while in liverpool

I'm flying out to liverpool in December and will be attending the wolves game and the derby , for most of the trip I was able to get an apart hotel on the waterfront, for Saturday night I had made other accommodations as the rate doubled I thought i got a nice place travel guest house bit it was highly rated but wasn't family with the area , I guess it's located in fairfield and newsham park on sheil rd which is I guess supposed to be a little rough will I be okay for one night? I've never traveled oversees before but I don't think I'm naive and my friend is a seasoned traveler.
Are you sure that you can't find somewhere better mate?
Shiel Rd isn't the best of areas.

If I didn’t know any better I would assume all that money you’ve saved on accommodation is going on the greatest drug-fuelled reverse crackhead gangbang of your lives. Jib the Everton games mate, spend ALL your money on good times 👍

…or stay somewhere that isn’t crawling with divs and toothless desperate drug addicts for a few dollars/pounds more. Nothing will ruin your trip more than a temporary home which you won’t feel comfortable in

Thanks for everyone's feedback and advice even Chico's unhelpful and predictably childish post 😂 , after somehow getting a refund I've opted to take the train to London sat. Night after the derby
Very sensible to get the train, if you visit Liverpool again and it’s just a short visit, try May Duncan’s on Everton Road it’s pub with good accommodation upstairs, friendly staff and good genuine customers who will make you feel comfortable. a bus ride from Goodison Park one way or one into town the other. I think you can book and have a look at it on line.
