Travel thread 3.0

Have you gotten around the island? Any recommendations of anything youve enjoyed so far ?
Yeh mate.

Drove to Kata beach which was lovely, decent water sports going on there.

Popped into Patong town which was crazy. Full on buzz and loads of bars, though we only stayed for 1 drink then we had to leave

Did the trip to Phi Phi Island and visited Maya Bay which was absolutely incredible, busy but the beach was beautiful. Then we headed over to Monkey Beach, go a couple of good pics of them. We did snorkeling around the Island which was nice. That was a day trip, and was definitely worth it. I think I paid 1600THB

Other than that, we stayed around Karon Beach, tried some of the local foods, local night market and of course the local bars.

When I come next time, I will definitely be staying a few nights on Phi Phi Island, then stay over in Patong before heading over this way again.

…..can’t be having ‘busy holidays’ at our age, so for Mrs Eggs it’s all about hot weather, lovely all inclusive hotels with great booze and food.

We’ve already booked; April/May with son, his wife and kids in Turkey; just the two of us for Cyprus in June and 2 weeks in Kos in Sept (one of which will be with our daughter, her husband and kids).

Love all 3 places, recently worked out I had spent over 6 months of my life between 2007 and 2024 in Turkey - almost all in 2 week long holidays. If you haven't been to Northern Cyprus well worth a day trip, we went through the gate in Nicosia and then got the bus (dolmus) to Kyrenia (they call it Girme).
