Travel thread 3.0

It looks as though not many of you go to this thread, but here goes. My travel agent booked 3 train tickets from Stafford to Plymouth
on September 2nd but didn't reserve seats. Should I be worried? I don't mind the 1st leg to Birmingham but it's nearly 4 hours from
there. I've heard they sometimes over book.
Depends. Pretty much the end of the summer school hols so you might be alright. What time of day?

Any events going on in places like Cheltenham, Bristol etc? That usually adds to demand.

Me and the missus are struggling to find flights to Daytona/Orlando in October (15th) that are either reasonably priced (under £900) or don't involve multiple stops/layovers. Anything specific we should be looking at?

Will you have a rental car? If so, you may want to look at flights to Tampa as well. It’s not that bad of a drive. About an hour and a half or so.

Isn't the high speed rail between Miami - Orlando due to be open next year.

That could open up options to fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale or any of the other stops on the track route.

My Australian wife has always wanted to go there. This will be our fourth visit to Britain since 2000 and the shortest one, but I promised her that we'd do it this time. Our daughter is coming too and I just hope it's a nice, sunny day. It has to be sunny and warm at the seaside. Even here!
Don't worry she won't want to go again.

Aye a few times. Weirdly enough has the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Portugal (Little India) Is an amazing place in general. Lots of small bars or places showing football. Couple of good coffee places as well. Don’t eat seafood but been told it’s excellent there in general.

I’d cross the border to Ayamonte but not sure how easy that is on public transport. Trains to Faro are regular and cheap and I quite like Faro but it’s not for everyone. I assume you’re flying in there and getting the train.

Tavira island has this mad little train line on it. Will be a bit quieter but still roasting. Probably the best time to visit.
