Travel thread 3.0

I have done some solo travelling. I am not a-naturally outgoing individual so do not find it easy to socialise on trips. As a result for shorter city breaks I make sure i plan a detailed itinerary of things I want to see to ensure I get the most out of it. When I need a longer break I try to plan around a football tournament. For the start of the World Cup I will be in Thailand for a couple of weeks. Looking to move between 3 locations. Plenty of sights to be see during the day and then the footy to watch at night. I am sure there will be a good atmosphere
You wont struggle to “socialise” in thailand mate

Wink wink

That bit between returning from holiday and booking the next trip is like the post-season, then once you’ve booked the trip, it’s the pre-season so you have to step up your fitness regime.

Sorry for the above. Just felt like I had to get it out there lol

Have a 6 hour stop over in Dublin next Wednesday. Is it easy to get to and from the city to the airport? Where does the best pints? Should I just stay in the airport and get rubbered?

Joking aside, the only negative ive experienced are on the airlines.

The pilots seem to suddenly swing rather than smoothly turning and the flight attendants seem to be on massive power trips.

Fantastic malls, bars, clubs, spa's, sights and hotels. The people are friendly and kind wherever you go.

Langsuan area is just cool.

Got a two night weekend in Paris next month... not my thing really, but missus has always wanted to go there...so belated birthday pressie.
Obviously metro is the best way getting about, but does anyone have any tips on attractions to not bother with, considering I've one full day to nail this and get out of there. Cheers

I'm in Phuket. You dropping by here for a bum?

Was there for a couple of weeks 6weeks ago.

Im a fan of Kata beach and the one the other side of Mom Tri's. Surin seems to have all the plastic wash up...quite like the beach behind The Slate as well for peace and quiet.

Recommend anywhere there?

Bumming was certainly on offer the night i went to Patong. One bar there stood out from the others, forgot the name but the creatures in there were insane.

This trip will be in BKK.

Nai Harn is one of my favourite beaches and then more up north towards Bang Tao. I arrived last year and spent the time around Kata and Rawai but it became far too busy with the influx of Russian carts. Nowadays living equidistant from Phuket Town, Laguna and the airport with nothing really within walking distance, hence got a little 150cc bike.

Can't say the last time I went to Patong, but if you want a night of bumming, or indeed be bummed yourself, it's a good enough location to go.

I mostly go on weekend trips to nice beach resort hotels in Phang Nga or very occasionally to Krabi or Phi Phi.

What do you like about BKK? I just see it as a concrete jungle full of shopping malls, although I have spent a NYE there once and the fireworks were good.
