Travel thread 3.0

Rome is great but we went in peak summer and the queues can be challenging. If youre planning on going book the colosseum and the Vatican before you go, don't have to queue and it's the same price or cheaper.
I’m not a religious person and wasn’t arsed about the Vatican, but when I got there in was blown away by it. Hugely impressive. Great city to walk around in

Anyone been to Cologne before? Looking to sort a trip for February for FIL 60th and wanting to take in a match whilst over there.
Been there a few times for gigs but wouldn't say I know the place that well. Did go to the Nazi archive museum there which was pretty interesting. It was basically their archives but in the basement floor was torture chambers. Pretty dark but also interesting. The cathedral is impressive and there is a decent art museum right next to it. That's about all I know. Seems a pretty lively city.

Yeah I had a great pork knuckle there too
I also remember a pub on the river that was serving three kinds (pork, lamb and smoked ham) of knuckle (on one plate). If my memory is still working I think they also had a chocolate museum on the riverfront. The town history museum was also pretty good and there is a good view over the old town from the tower on the other side of the river.

I am most excited about a trip to Dresden later this year. Never been to Germany so hoping it is a good introduction to the country. Will be spending some time in Prague too.
Never made it to Dresden but really enjoyed Leipzig (church where Bach played—St. Matthew’s and the STASI museum).

Prague is fantastic..jealous over here as I sweat my nuts off in DC
