It's Eamonn O'Keefe who was an irish international born in manchester. He started out at plymouth but didn't make it and then spent the next five years playing non league until picked up by everton in the late 70s and given a career in the top flight.
But during those five years he went out to saudi arabia for a few months and became the first european to be given a professional contract out there. (Mostly because the sultan out there fancied him, and wanted him to be his private lover as well as footballer.)
