August 20 1966 Fulham 0 Everton 1
West, Wright, Wilson, Gabriel, Labone, Harvey, Scott, Ball (debut), Pickering, Young, Temple
- West, Wright and Harvey not capped at the time.. This is probably the first instance of an Everton XI of internationals taking the field (albeit with 3 yet to be capped) - although it's possible in the late 30s (but I think not)
In the first game after Leon Osman's first cap (17th November) Everton lined up with a team of full internationals (already capped) -
Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Heitinga, Baines, Osman, Hitzlsperger, Naismith, Fellaini, Pienaar and Jelavic
losing 2-1 at Reading.
At Old Trafford on 10/2/13 Everton lined up
Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Heitinga, Baines, Gibson, Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini, Mirallas, Anichebe
they lost this game 2-0
the same 11 played 6 days later in a 2-2 draw at Oldham in the FA Cup
In the 1960s Everton had one of Morrissey, Harris, Stevens, Rankin, Kendall and others in the line-up (noting that Gordon West wasn't capped until 1968). Later the likes of Hurst, Husband, Whittle and an uncapped Joe Royle would frequently play for the first team. In the 1980s they fielded around 9-10 internationals frequently but usually one or more from Mountfield, Clarke, Power, McDonald, Pointon in the starting line-up - not achieving the previously capped rule.
In recent times the side usually fielded one or more from Mikel Arteta, Hibbert, Stubbs, Pistone, a previously uncapped Leon Osman amongst others.
