Trivia Question

do us a favour, send these pics to the club and tell them that's what the fking badge should look like !

EDIT, I mean the badge should look like the one on the jacket, we don't want a badge that looks like a leather jacket

oh fk it I don't know

I agree - when I was taking the picture the exact same thought came into my head about the badge issue.

I thought, as an experiment, that I would ask this question backwards.

So what have Alan Ball, Joe Royle, Alex Scott, David Johnson, Rod Belfitt, Stuart McCall, Mike Newell, Mo Johnston, Martin Keown, Tomasz Radzinski, Wayne Rooney, Yakubu, Louis Saha, Romelu Lukaku and Mark Pembridge done in their footballing careers that no other everton players have done?

I've not read all the people or players or whatever they're called, I haven't seen any other answers and admittedly I've had a few pints, but I'm guessing that they all had ginger hair at some point.

Am I right? Amiright? I'm right, right?

Before the Cheltenham game last season and then the Stevenage game this season, being that these were the first time we'd ever played these clubs, we were sat in the pub trying to name as many other league clubs we've never played before in any competition. Does anyone how many is the correct answer and who they are? (yeah i know the trivia thing is usually name 10 clubs etc) but i'd like to genuinely know the answer!

Starting off with Fleetwood, Morecambe and Burton Albion.

League of all time or league as of now?

In terms of the modern day league, I don't think we've ever played Hartlepool, Wycombe, Morecambe, Rochdale, Torquay, Mansfield, Dagenham, Burton Albion, Fleetwood, Crawley, Yeovil and one of AFC Wimbledon or MK dons depending on your opinion.

In terms of all time in the league, there's loads more. Like Barrow were a league club briefly and stuff. New brighton had a a league team.

Cheers Artetafan! Yeah just the current league sides. So we're reckoning 12 then? We got the others but Rochdale and Torquay are a surprise and like you i was thinking we must've played Hartlepool at some point.

There are 45 League teams we have never played - only 12 are present members of the FL - Hartlepool and Rochdale being the oldest members (1921) and Torquay (1927). The other 9 would be considered "modern" members of the League with Wycombe the next oldest League member (1993). So basically only 3 "older" members have never played us competitively.

The complete list of the 33 former League members never to have played us is as follows:

You can of course argue that the "new" Accrington Stanley is not the same as the old one.

Of the English teams we have played the following only in the Cup competitions:

Accrington Stanley, Aldershot, Altrincham, Bedford Town, Bournemouth, Burton Wanderers, Cambridge United, Cheltenham, Chesterfield, Colchester United, Crewe Alexandra, Darlington, Exeter City, Gillingham, Jarrow, King's Lynn, Macclesfield, Newport County, Peterborough United, Poole, Scun'thorpe United, Shrewsbury Town, Southend United, Southport, Stevenage, Stockport County, Tamworth, Telford United, Tranmere Rovers, Walsall, Wrexham, York City, Woking

There are only 3 teams we have only played in League competition!

Accrington, Darwen and Northampton.

I enjoyed the backwards question thing so I'm going to stick with it for this next one, I think.

These players are the only ones to do something in an everton professional match but what is it?

Jack Southworth did it by himself. Sandy Young did it with Man City's Irvine Thornley. Alec Brady, Fred Geary & Alf Milward did it as a trio. Bobby Smith of Spurs did it with Jimmy Harris. Jack Cock did it with Boro's Bily Birrell. Bob Latchford & Martin Dobson did it as did Joe Royle & David Johnson, Jimmy Stein & Dixie Dean, Bobby Irvine & Sam Chedgzoy, Jimmy Settle & Jack Taylor and Alex Latta & Fred Geary.
