TV Series

After the first series of the US Office there is very little in common between the shows besides the name and the initial setup.

The US Office when trying to be the UK Office was average (series 1). When it became its own show it was brilliant (apart from the final season). The humour is completely different though so I don't feel the need for comparison, they're both brilliant comedies.

I am on my fourth watch-through of The Office (US) right now and I seem to find it funnier with every viewing. It definitely dropped off considerably, for me, when Steve Carell left.
I was pleasantly surprised by the season immediately after Carrell left. James Spader was great. It was a wise decision to go for someone completely different to Carrell/Michael Scott. I agree it wasn't as good as before though.

Thought the final season was poor but it wasn't a huge surprise as they tried to tie everything up which is always tough and they struggled to get all the cast together as most of them had a lot of other stuff on.

Lost in Space (Netflix)
Its alright, decent sci-fi adventure with some boring bits filling it out at times. If you're after sci-fi its probably worth a watch. 2 seasons out atm with the 3rd coming sometime this year.

Better than the UK Office.

*ducks

Defo is like

U.K. office was terrible. US office is brilliant

US Office is garbage. In it's day the original was a refreshing and superbly crafted, created a whole awkward genre and made huge stars out of its characters. How bout lets take that and we sell out with something akin to 'two broke girls'.

The problem with the US version was that their lead character wasn't a patch on Ricky Gervais.

Nail on the head.

UK office was brilliant

Genius. Pure genius.

Lol at all of this, Steve Carell is literally a genius. Trying to think of what Marvel film Gervais was in to have McBain so firmly in his corner

Office UK was incredibly original. Seinfeld ushered in the 90's referentialism but the Office really defined the 2000's.

Carell is easily the weakest of the leading comics, put him against your Stillers, your Colberts, your Jack Blacks and he is just not funny.

Well I like both.

I don't think the UK Office would work over 9 seasons or whatever and I don't think the US one would work over 2 and a bit.

For me, even though I loved the UK one, I find it hard to watch now with how awful Gervais now is. Maybe it was mainly Stephen Merchant all along.

just finished the last series of Vikings , very poor i thought, shame as i mostly liked it, couldnt get the old guy who kept popping up like a old god spirit or something, thought right throughout the series he slowed it down and was an bore.
