TV Series

The Hunt For A Killer, iPlayer, Swedish police investigation drama based on a series of real-life murders between 1989-2004. It’s done almost documentary style, and just focusses on the investigations from the detectives point of view, and the challenges they face, including nonsensical bureaucracy. It’s grim and matter of fact, but very compelling and well made

The North Water looks like it's going to be good. The first episode was on BBC 2 last night but it looks like all episodes are on iPlayer.

Colin Farrell is magnificent in it and that’s something I never thought I’d ever say.

He is an inspired bit of casting.

Surprised it got past the over sensitive BBC guardians with those scenes towards the end on the ice pack.
Some of the scenes filmed in Hull's old town. The city had a big connection to the whaling industry.

That surprised me too, which could be why it started at the rather odd time of 9.30pm, post watershed, rather than the usual 8pm or 9pm.

The cinematography, is very similar to the excellent adaptation of the Terror.

You couldn't help but seeing the similarities between the two. This will keep me watching on account of that.
