TV Series

It's so long since I read the Silmarillion that I've forgotten far more than I can remember.

Maybe that's why I thoroughly enjoyed Rings Of Power.

Story isn't based on Silm so you haven't forgotten anything there. I still enjoyed it as a fantasy spectacle, and I understood going in there were canon lore gaps to fill between key canon events, but soon as they changed those few key canon events they lost me.

I've only read The Hobbit, The LOTR and The Silmarillion (all a long, long time ago. I'm actually older than Elrond) so, what with my failing memory, I have no further knowledge of key canon events in this timeline.

I'm living proof that ignorance truly is bliss. ?

Oh I wish I could ignore it but I've waited so long for this and they were such avoidable mistakes. I'd love to see an interview with the writers asking them why they did what they did.

Think Elrond and Gladriel were the big red flags to me. Their portrayal was nowhere near how they would've behaved or been during that time period.

Real fan fiction stuff from the writers.

Imagining your fume If they said something similar to me.

''Oh yeah, you're right, but it's just so long since I read the books, I'd forgotten about that.''

I'm an episode behind but if it's warring families and factions you like with back-stabbing and political intrigue then it's deffo worth a watch. The episode I just watched (Driftmark) is pretty much entirely about factions and political power.

While the dragons are important they aren't the sole focus - it's more the power that the owner/rider/faction gains from having them that is important so far in HOD.
At the end of the day, aren't the dragons just weapons of mass destruction?

Finally started Breaking Bad last night (don't fret, I'm a late starter with everything).

A question for well, basically everyone else on the planet. I only watched the first episode, so would it be advisable to cut it short and watch Better Call Saul first? Or doesn't it matter?
Nope me too mate. I watched the first episode about 4 years ago. I enjoyed it but the missus wasn't keen so never watched it again.

Keep on meaning to start again so I can properly contribute to the BCS thread.
