Its actually amazing how desperate you are to blindly defend Disney at every single turn here. This entire discussion comes from you pretending that them simply adding a handful of cool looking alien side characters (because I never once asked for one to be the main character) its apparently financially crippling to Disney. Sorry but that's just ludicrous.
There's an endless supply of comics and books that would both be easy to adapt and easily relatable to a casual fan. This isn't complicated, its Star Wars ffs. You'd have to be a moron to not understand it and the handful of moments that might be seen to some as complicated can always been edited out. That's how adaptions work.
You can say that "chucking a rubber mask" on a character (because again, I never said a main character) wouldn't work but Chewbaca holds up very well almost fifty years later. As does Greedo. Practical effects can work when done properly. Its absolutely mad that you're arguing so forcefully (pun instead!) about this.
Come on ffs. Asking for some cool looking and interesting alien side characters in Star Wars is not an unreasonable request.
All I said was that it would be nice if Disney did one of the things that made Star Wars what Star Wars always has been (in a post where I was actually praising their show BTW) and you've spent post after post frantically defending something that didn't even need defending. Its just odd. Its really not that big a deal pal. They've had plenty of cool and interesting alien characters in the Mandalorian, they could've easily had one or two in Andor too. That's all this is. You disagree. Fine. But it's really not a unreasonable request on my part and its weird how determined you are to pretend that it is.It's clear you just don't understand how these things come about, how they are done or why, and how much they actually cost.
Andor's Secret to Staying Grounded: No Aliens
The stripped-down Star Wars series has largely steered clear of alien species. It keeps Andor grounded and speaks volumes about the Empire.www.cbr.com
They spent the money on locations and design, and stripped back the silliness to focus on real characters. I'm sure once you're running the show, you can tell everyone how it should be done with your thousands of comics, handing out rubber masks and calling everyone morons because its so practically easy to do!

I'll debate with you any time mate (and have plenty of times) but you can't honestly tell me that you're debating in good faith on this. You can't seriously say that its an unreasonable request on my part to ask Disney to keep doing one the biggest things that has always made Star Wars what it is with cool alien characters?!Its called debate and that's why we are here, right? Stick to your guns GSL!

Andor couldn't have a friend who was an alien? The person or raised him? Or a one of the prisoners in the complex that he's currently imposionned in? His home planet alone could've had a couple of them. The natives on any of the planets they've visted? Its a galaxy far far away, its not that complicated or deep. Seeing different kinds of beings in the Star Wars galaxy would be pretty common. You're liking Andor, so where do they actually fit in Alien side characters?

And I really enjoy Andor for what its done there. As I've said before, I think its the best thing Star Wars related to come from Disney so far. I just think that adding the odd alien character here and there would make it feel slightly more Star Wars to me. Its not like I'd change anything about the plot or anything. Its not really a criticism of the show itself. I just think that having different types of beings in Star Wars is a cornerstone of the franchise and that by not having any it somewhat takes me out of it.TBF I think that is to look at the Star Wars galaxy with eyes from our world and times.
Andor is fantastic because it has diverse viewpoints, not necessarily diverse (in terms of species) characters - this is after all only the second Star Wars media product (that I am aware of anyway) ever to give us a detailed look at life on the other side of the hill (as it were), from people who like the Empire for reasons that aren't cartoonish and who don't realise the error of their ways and join the Rebels.
We've had alien sidekicks, performers, even main characters. We've only very rarely seen what the other side thinks.
I'm waiting for a scene on a different level in the prison where they disassemble the parts made on the level Cassian is on. I love the way it is trying to portray the banality of life for the ordinary citizen in a purely evil state.I could honestly watch a whole film set in that prison on Andor
