Watching The Day of the Jackal at the moment, the book was terrific and though the story line is pretty good, whoever cast Eddie Redmayne and that Lashana Lynch as the main leads? awful actors, also his character is supposed to be the best assassin in the world but he's a bit mr bean in it, dropping clangers and leaving trails all over the place.

I have the book from years ago, never got round to reading it completely as yet. But having watched a couple episodes can see what you mean, guess I’ll catch up on the book over Christmas.

Got one episode in and my Wife lost interest so it went off. I'm on the fence as to whether I try episode 2 but I'm swaying towards not bothering.

Given the horror that family has to ultimately endure they have to be blues. In the directors cut of Dune 2 when Paul Atreidies confronts the emperor he asks him where the Arteta money is and gets him in a headlock

I think the best way to approach the TV series, is to view it as a complete separate entity to the book and the film.

Just treat it as entertainment and nothing more.

its quite entertaining but i wanted the MI6 girl to die the whole series, shes just as evil as the jackal.

Lashana Lynch is dreadful and her family story is absolute tosh. I second that she should be killed off.

I agree with you about Eddy Redmayne, plus the script isn’t too good either, so he can only go with what’s in front of him.

She’s sooooo bad though, how she’s getting paid to act is beyond me.

Yes, to be honest her family in the series are absolutely dreadful and take me out of the series when theyre on screen.

Not a patch on the other family (spoiler risk) in the series. Im actually boggled how shes got these parts?

Is she banging someone important or related to someone influential?

5 eps into True Detective, took me a bit to get into it but loving it now and can’t turn it off. MM and Harrelson at their best here

Some great one liners delivered in his usual dead pan way. Highly recommeneded series.

Genuinely wanted to stand up and applaud, best individual series I’ve ever seen

It`s become a ritual with me now, where I watch it at least once every year, just to remind myself how good it really is.

My eldest lad had run out of stuff to watch, so I put him onto it.

Bearing in mind he`s eighteen and has less of an attention span than @matty1878, he watched the whole lot in one go and stated it was one of the best things he`d ever seen.
