Tyias Browning

No it's not.

People need to get realistic here.

Yes, Ty did well in the short time he was on but we need to see a lot more of him before we can say he is Seamus's understudy.

If Seamus is still not fit you can bet Bobby will start Tony at OT.

The thing for me is that you would like to think that Browning has a lot more to come in his game. It seems unlikely that Hibbert has a lot more improvement left in him. As both are at similar levels now, it makes sense therefore to play Ty rather than Tony, doesn't it?

No.

Browning has the greater potential, obviously. Hibbert was far more assured than normal yesterday - although he still wasn't ace by any means.

Whilst waiting for Seamus to get back, it's probably best to introduce Browning, yes, but through a phased process.

Browning shows the value of hard work.

He was not the most gifted footballer in his age group by a long shot. However he has improved year on year whilst others stagnated.

Totally agree apart from the similar levels bit. A right back that can't run, can't pass and is useless in the air is not a good level.

I think yesterday was always going to be tough for Hibbo as Sterling is so quick. He did ok in the circumstances, but Browning is undoubtedly more athletic. Hibbert was actually better on the ball than he often has been, but physically there's no comparison between him and Browning.

Isnt Tyias still seen as a future centre half? Either way, if yesterday was anything to go by, we might just have decent cover for Coleman.

Based entirely on the quite good cross he made just before the goal he looks to be somewhat two footed. Which always helps.

Saw him at Tranmere against Celta Vigo - thrown on at left-back - did ok (but obviously suffered by being on the left-hand side) and was, on that occasion, somewhat reluctant to push forward. Nevertheless looked competent enough then and showed up well today - a major fillip to make your PL debut in the cauldron at A...field at 0-1 and to show up well (plus be part of a team that got it back to 1-1 and play a part in the build-up to the goal). A debut in such a key game to match The Rat (at Old Trafford) and Colin Harvey (in the San Siro)?

Ossie called him "Baby Sylvain" in that crossbar challenge thing the other day! If he turns out to deliver as much as The Milkman we'll be very lucky indeed.

Hopefully the end of Stones at right back and Hibbert for us with this lad.

Feel he is the cover for Seamus now 100%.

I'd like to see him start in Krasandor as well as Garbutt as left back, both have big futures...

Just not good enough at this level if we want to win games/get top 4 etc.

I'll take your 'not good enough' because I'd much rather someone with experience there than crowbarring someone completely unsuitable in. Sometimes you have to take a sideways step to then make progress. We simply dont have the cash or the inclination to have a second eleven of full regular internationals. Heavens, the starting eleven doesn't even have that going for it. (Distin, Barry)

Fair enough, he's a scouser, was a half decent full back six years ago...who needs to win matches
