If he starts then distin and martinez have deffo fallen out. To go from playing most games last season and being a regular player to just 1 appearance after the league cup game and not featuring on the bench after a reported argument. Certainly something will have gone on if he doesn't play imo

Jags will be going off with England so even if we did wrap him in cotton wool it might not help much.

Managers seem happy to play young players anywhere other than the position they came through in. Centrebacks play full back or midfield, but fullbacks have to earn their stripes on the wings. Central midfielders aren't trusted so have to play off the front whilst strikers havr to play wide.

Its ridiculous. Rooney, barkley, Stones all blooded in their proper positions, all good players. Give Brownjng a run at centreback.

...I don't have any particular reticence with Browning but I think I posted that ahead of Alcaraz injury and thought he'd be down the pecking order. More generally the examples you quote are success stories. I've said before that we can't use the 1st team to give lads a trial but if RM feels a young player is good enough he should be blooded in his best position.
