DOF would need to manage all the scouts and also signings of players....thats something LVG has been poor at with utd.

Also needs to be likeable and not have a huge ego...he needs to massage the managers ego over the long term....not LVGs strong points.

I really think he's our No.1 choice. His season doesn't finish until tonight which explains no contact.
Dutch duo's seasons are over but no contact with either. Favre and Jose out of work and no contact (Jose was a pipe dream anyway).

I think we will see movement with him this week and if it fails we will then see contact with others starting.

In fact its a step down as we don't have European football

By looking at the long term and not just the next 12month's ? Better backing? A challenge ? A massive wedge when he gets top 4 ?

I think his goal is proving himself as a top manager as he wasnt a successful player (as mentioned in a couple of articles on him). Hes achieved what he can at sevilla and now probably would welcome the challenge here.

I'm just going off press reports tbh. All I've seen is interest from some and speculation of who we may be interested in.

I just think it would have been made public by now if we were actively speaking to our target. The fact it is not leads me to believe that our targets season in not over yet. That leaves Emery and Simeone.

Spot on! Just because we arent in the media every 5 minutes like west ham giving "updates" doesnt mean to say we're inactive! We are taking our time and doing our home work to ensure we get it right.

@The Esk said we are using a recruitment/executive search / headhunting company.

These guys will discuss our requirments with us and create a template of the manager we want...also perhaps the DOF.

They will then privately approach these individuals in a neutral capacity for an informal chat. Then based on that narrow down the list.

They then present us with the list and we ask them to have a more formal chat with them before the list gets smaller again. We then hold initial interviews.

Unless the recruiter or managers disclose anything to the press they wouldnt know.
