Usmanov

He may be what we needed whilst benitez is a gamble and not my personal choice at least he has the balls to make a tough call

Enough of fan pandering bill and his mate moshiri doing what the perceived as right for the fans not necessarily for the club

Maybe usmanovs desire for a return on his now obvious investment may ultimately lead to success on the pitch

Felt moshiri has been overly influenced by
Boys pen bill for far to long and hopefully usmanov has too and feels enough is enough and will now get more hands on

Do you think when Bramley-Moore's announced or when we become half decent he'll formally takeover the club?

It suits him to have de facto ownership at arm's length. It avoids the Russian oligarch James Bond spy hysteria that would come from certain politicians and the media. He also avoids any fan pressure. Usmanov is considerably wealthier than Abramovich, so I think he'd be under pressure to match the spending of the top clubs, rather than the mid-table level spending of buying Iwobi and Doucoure at 25 million pound each.

I can't see him taking on the pressures that would come from being the official owner of Everton, when he can just carry on with the pretence that Moshiri is the owner and let him enjoy / suffer from the notoriety and pressure of being an owner of a big premier league club

Then why did he buy the club in the first place? He's going to be running at a loss every year...

These losses are nothing to someone like Usmanov. It's like losing a £5 accumaltor bet every week for him. Pocket change.

He has an interest in sport. He could buy the club officially and subject himself to the circus that comes with it, or he can have the same level of control of the club (complete control) and let someone else enjoy/suffer from the circus. I believe that he has chosen the latter, and I don't see it changing so that he ever becomes the official owner.

So what's going to happen when he dies? He's coming up to 70 and isn't in the best of shape, is his vision really that short-sighted?

Is it to do with the money to be made from developing Liverpool Waters? Are they looking at investing money in that scheme? Makes it more attractive if bookended by a world class stadium. Just thinking out loud.

Thats the theory that a few of us chanced on a few years ago. It was just a theory, but as the months and years have passed by, it does seem to be more and more likely.

I have to admit that I welcomed his perceived involvement. His disregard for the majority of the true owners of our club in installing FSW as our manager has made me wish that he'd stayed at Arsenal.
He did say that football in this country is too political, so who knows?

What you realise with v successful people who invest lots of money, is they tend to look at a very wide picture, and also view things on much longer time scales (partly as they have the liquidity to do so, but mainly as they have the foresight to do so).

Most of us view Everton through a narrow and short term window of the next season. That's the difference really.

We dont seem to be shopping for the top tier of players, I dont agree that this is only to do with our league position being average/poor.

I'm sure he has the disolution of his estate upon death well sorted. His assets and his interests will be taken over by whoever Usmanov wants to take over them.
