Usmanov

I don't think he has a title and that's sort of the point. There are a multitude of logical reason's as to why he wouldn't want to be seen as formally involved.

I have to be honest mate, I've never known a sponsor to get to be involved in a recruitment process, never mind select the person, never mind select a key person. To me that's almost unheard of. That is normally the decision an owner would take, or in this instance an owner in all but name. That's the reality. On the scale of probability that is the by far the most likely scenario. Is it certain? Absolutely not, but on the balance of probabilities it makes most sense.

It's good his nephew is involved. It's likely he will inherited most of Usmanov's cash. He's currently running the women's team. It looks a lot like a succession plan to me. A lot of talk he goes onto the main board and people seem quite impressed with him.

I posted in another thread the talk of imminent board changes, admittedly based on Twitter, but I would not be surprised if one of the additions was one of Usmanovs people directly.

It isn't particularly unusual from my own experience for outside parties to be consulted on an appointment, not at all. Even if it was Usmanov who had the final say, all that people need to know is that he had an involvement, and the club/Moshiri don't particularly need to account for that, other than by virtue of his sponsorship.

Good point this...could well be that Usmanov doesnt come on board ever

But his nephew does as the partner to Moshiri.

Could be Usmanov has planted his nephew in to learn the ropes while the accountant runs the thing from above

Being consulted is one thing, but meeting the guy to interview them is quite another.

I mean, the candidate would not see them for a start.

I work on probabilities, the probability hes a back seat owner just seems far higher than hes just a mate making the decisions an owner would.

I think if Usmanov wanted to come he would. Or wanted to come publicly he would.

Embedding his nephew (bare in mind he has no kids) to learn the ropes before inheriting a huge fortune seems to fit the profile. Also means the funding wont die with Usmanov as well.

I have to admit that I welcomed his perceived involvement. His disregard for the majority of the true owners of our club in installing FSW as our manager has made me wish that he'd stayed at Arsenal.

I'll give him a large dollop of kudos for that exact reason.

Biblical levels of bedwetting over appointing a proven manager.

Yesterdays man? Maybe.

We're kidding ourselves believing we can attract the elite level or next big thing. He's recognised that and gone against fan opinion. If we'd wait for universal fan approval we'd be managerless all the way to relegation.

A steady ship with incremental growth is needed.

Really? Because we'd still have a blue in charge?

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Oh well, each to their own ;)
